OklaTravelNet Public Launch

OklaTravelNet officially launches today. Here's the notice I received via e-mail:
For the last 90 days OklaTravelNet has been available to members of the travel and tourism industry across Oklahoma as part of a unique preview period. During this time, we have had an opportunity to expose a limited audience of key industry influentials to this revolutionary new online experience. The feedback from the industry has been overwhelmingly positive. And now, we're ready to bring OklaTravelNet to the world.

But before we do, we would like to thank our presenting sponsors, The Chickasaw Nation, Riverwind Casino, The American Indian Cultural Center & Museum and POPS, as well as the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department and its outstanding Executive Director, Hardy Watkins. Without their visionary support, none of this would have been possible.

In addition, we'd like to thank you, the industry, for your comments and suggestions and most importantly, for linking to OklaTravelNet on so many of your homepages. Rest assured that we have taken every email, phone call and instant message into careful consideration. And we intend to promote your attractions and events aggressively, with news coverage, archived videos and links to your websites. We look forward to forging a partnership with the entire industry, as we all work tirelessly to promote this great state.

We have spent hundreds of hours working to improve OklaTravelNet. And the end result is an experience that we believe is the single most important development in the history of travel & tourism in Oklahoma. Much more than a traditional website, OklaTravelNet is an online channel.

Our daily newscast, OklaTravelNews, broadcasts live from 12:00PM -1:30PM CST. And on the weekends, OTN Weekend with Whitney Clark airs live on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00AM -11:00AM. Both of these programs are packed with information on things to see and do around the state, today, and in the week ahead. And if you miss a live broadcast, you can watch it on demand anytime. Or download a video or audio podcast of the show and take it with you. There has never been a better way to get all the travel news on Oklahoma you want, all in one place.

Complimenting this extraordinary news coverage is our incredible archive of travel videos. Users can choose from over 1000 videos on attractions and events all over Oklahoma. Whether it's a segment from the OklaTravelNews or Discover Oklahoma library, a feature length documentary on Oklahoma's proud history, or one of our fabulous scenic tours, these videos will open the world's eyes to Oklahoma in a whole new way.

So log on now, because there are big things coming to OklaTravelNet that you won't want to miss. We'll be kicking things off with a week of coverage from one of Oklahoma's most treasured assets, Route 66. And in the months ahead we'll be broadcasting live, worldwide coverage of the Oklahoma Centennial Parade, Statehood Day in Guthrie, the incredible Centennial Spectacular and so much more.

It's all Oklahoma, all the time. And it's only on www.oklatravelnet.com.
