Time To Return

As many of you know we lost a beloved member of our Exploring Oklahoma History family, my mother, Carleta, in December. I would like to thank everyone for your kindness and support over the last couple of weeks. Your kind words and sympathy meant a lot to me, my brothers, and our extended family.

As I’m sure you’ll understand, during this time we put everything on hold here at Exploring Oklahoma History. Well the time has come to get back into it. You may have noticed, we've started being active again on Google+, Twitter, and Facebook. And our volunteers have begun updating our historic places database again.

We’re going to be reorganizing our back-end a bit and shuffle around some tasks. This includes how we handle our email. I ask for your patience while we fix this. If you would like to get hold of us, Google+, right now, is the best way to do it. We’ll be sure to let everyone know when we get everything straighten out again.

If you'd like to help us with the Oklahoma historic places database, while we’re reorganizing things, we suggest you share your finds to the Oklahoma History Community on Google+.

The basic information we need is:

  • Marker title or name of the historic place
  • Text of the marker or a brief description of historic place
  • County and Directions to (include closest town)
  • GPS coordinates (if possible)
  • At least one original photo of the marker (we can not use pictures from a third party unless we have permission)

Again thanks for your understanding and support as we once again begin Exploring Oklahoma History.

~ +K. Latham
