OK Post Offices Possible Closings

Recently the US Postal Service has announced that they are considering closing as many as 3,700 post offices nationwide.  Oklahoma has 100 on that list.

According to the July 27, 2011 edition of the Clinton Daily News, there are several in the Clinton area on that list.  They include Bessie, Fay, Oakwood, Rocky, Sweetwater, and Colony.  What will this mean for these Oklahoma towns?  While each of the towns listed are very small, they do still have a fair number of people who call them home.  Granted the commercial and industry in these towns is lacking or non-existent in some case, could closing the post office spell the final chapter to these towns existence?
