The Great Backyard Bird Count 2010
Just received an e-mail notice about the upcoming Great Backyard Bird Count.
Never too early to get a heads up for this fun and helpful event, so mark your February 2010 calendars for GBBC. Last year was a lot of fun to see who's flying through my backyard.
It only took 15 minutes to count the birds in my backyard for the 2009 Great Backyard Bird Count. I stood at my backdoor and wrote on the glass with a dry-erase marker.

The next Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) takes place Friday, February 12 through Monday, February 15, 2010. The National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology are calling on everyone to “Count for Fun, Count for the Future!” During last year’s count, participants turned in more than 93,600 checklists online, creating the continent's largest instantaneous snapshot of bird populations ever recorded. We hope you’ll join us again and help spread the word, since the success of the count depends on people tallying birds from as many locations as possible across the continent.Read More About Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) 2010
