Roman Nose Lodge Closed For Repair

The Roman Nose State Park Lodge will be closed for repairs until spring. This reported by News9.com:
The lodge at 1 of Oklahoma's original state parks will close next month to undergo repairs.

Tourism Department director Hardy Watkins says the lodge at Roman Nose State Park near Watonga will close Jan. 5 for a renovation that will cost about $1.65 million.

The south wing of the lodge sustained water damage when the remnants of Tropical Storm Erin dropped heavy rains on the state in August 2007. That part of the lodge will be demolished.

Officials hope the construction will be finished by mid-March.

The park and its attractions will remain open during the construction, but the lodge and its restaurant will be closed.
