Updating Historic Places 'n Stuff

Just thought I would hop on here and let everyone know we're still here. We really do need to post in the blog more often don't we. But lack of blog posts aside, we've been quite busy updating the historic places database these last few weeks. If you'd like to keep track of what's been updated you can subscribe to our Latest Updated feed, or just follow us on Twitter at blogoklahomaus.

There are more than a few Oklahoma historic places we haven't gotten to yet. So we've taken to selecting a random place from the N/A list and do some Google mining. You can learn quite a bit buy picking a random place. For example, did you know Union Mission in Mayes County was the first school to be established in what would become Oklahoma? I didn't.

If you would like to help us out, please check out our N/A list and either visit that site or help us with the research. Log on to our new social network and start posting what you find. Think of it as a large scavenger hunt. We especially need help in the eastern half of the state. Our primary explorers live in the southwestern quarter of Oklahoma, so we don't get to the eastern half that often.
