Oklahoma Radio Icon Retiring

Long time Oklahoma Radio and TV icon, Danny Williams, is retiring. This from NewsOK.com:
The calls already are flooding in to his morning show on KOMA-FM 92.5.

"We're going to miss you, Danny." "Are you really retiring, Danny?"

A radio and television icon in Oklahoma City since 1950, Danny Williams says he's really retiring Friday, ending a broadcasting career that began in 1947 on an Austin, Texas, radio station.

Williams, 81, will say goodbye to his audience at the top-rated morning show, including many listeners who started following his career in the early days of Oklahoma City television. As Dan D. Dynamo on the children's space show in the 1950s and host of "Dannysday" talk/variety show from 1967-84 on WKY-4, Williams developed a big following in the market. He also hosted "Live Wrestling," where he coined the saying "Watch out flying chairs!" after being hit by a chair on the professional wrestling show.
