Camping fees going up at state parks

For the first time since 2001, the fees for camping at Oklahoma state parks are going to increase a little bit.

The cost of camping at Oklahoma state parks is going up.

The state Tourism and Recreation Department is raising the base rate for all campsites from $8 to $10.

The more modern campsites that include electricity and sewer services currently range from $14 to $26 per night. Under the new system campers will pay more if they use a service such as electricity or sewer but the most a camper will be charged is $26 per night.

Tourism officials say this is the first increase in camping fees since 2001.
